Woman has ‘significant hair loss’ after violent Brooklyn subway robbery; man sought

BROOKLYN: A man beat a woman, yanked her hair and pulled her pants down during a robbery on a Brooklyn subway train last week that left the victim with “significant hair loss,” police said Monday as they released an image of the suspect.

The 29-year-old woman was aboard a southbound L train heading to the East 105th Street station in Canarsie on the morning of June 6 when the man tried to strike up a conversation with her around 9:15 a.m.

The woman ignored the man, who then grabbed her book bag and pulled her by the hair, police said.

The man struck the woman in the head multiple times before lifting the left side of her shirt up and pulling down the left side of her pants, according to police.

When the train arrived at the East 105th Street station, the man fled with the victim’s book bag, which contained $700 in cash, a Samsung cellphone, JFL headphones and other personal items.

The victim had a “significant amount of hair loss,” according to police, who said she refused medical attention at the scene.

Police believe the suspect is about 30 years old.
