STATEN ISLAND: The NYPD is asking for the public’s help to identify an individual sought for questioning in connection with an alleged robbery in Port Richmond.
The incident occurred on June 12 at 2:19 a.m. outside a deli at 220 Port Richmond Ave., according to a spokesperson for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.
A 34-year-old victim was in the store and upon returning to his vehicle, he was approached by an unidentified male from behind. The man was displaying a firearm. Following a brief struggle, the male individual fired multiple shots, striking the victim once in his left thigh, according to police.
The suspect then drove off with the victim’s vehicle, a 2007 black Infinity, towards Castleton Avenue. The victim was transported to Richmond University Medical Center in stable condition. The victim’s vehicle was recovered in Queens two days later.
The suspect is described as being about 30 to 40 years of age, with a medium build and long, black hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt with the word “King” in front of it, gray jeans and black sneakers. He was seen operating a white van, according to an NYPD spokesperson.
