BRONX: A 32-year-old Bronx man, Michael Bookhart, tragically lost his life late Sunday during a violent domestic altercation with his girlfriend, law enforcement sources reported.
The deadly confrontation occurred around 10:40 p.m. inside an apartment building on East 138th Street near Brown Place in Mott Haven. During the argument, Bookhart was stabbed in the chest, according to police.
Officers arrived at the scene after a 911 call and transported Bookhart to Lincoln Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities confirmed that Bookhart lived just a few blocks from the crime scene.
Bookhart’s 23-year-old girlfriend, who reportedly has no prior criminal record, was taken into custody for questioning as police continue their investigation.
