Chilling Bronx Shooting Leaves Six Injured, Suspects at Large

BRONX: Shocking video captures bystanders fleeing as gunmen opened fire at a Bronx bodega Monday, wounding six people, including a mother and her 12-year-old daughter.

The shooting occurred at G&W Grocery on White Plains Road around 4:50 p.m. Passers-by were seen running for cover as gunfire erupted. A local shopkeeper pulled an elderly woman to safety while the suspects fled the scene.

Police said two gunmen chased their targets into the store, using the 40-year-old mother as a human shield. She was shot in the stomach, and her daughter was hit in the thigh. Both suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Four other men, aged 18 to 21, were also injured with gunshot wounds to their legs, arms, and buttocks.

NYPD Chief John Chell described the attack as “heartless,” noting that investigators are working to determine a motive. Surveillance footage shows suspects fleeing the area, but no arrests have been made.

Witnesses described the chaos as people scrambled for safety. “When you hear something like that — boom, boom — it’s usually a shooting,” said Adama, 29, a nearby grocery worker.

The investigation is ongoing, and the suspects remain at large.
