QUEENS: A 15-year-old boy was beaten with a cane and a stick by four attackers on a Queens street in an apparent case of mistaken identity, police said Tuesday.
The assailants asked the teen why he assaulted their friend but the teen told police he doesn’t know what they were talking about.
The foursome beat the teen with a cane and stick after confronting him on Broadway near 48th St. in Astoria about 4:15 p.m. Monday, cops said.
The boy was taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition. His attackers got away in a white Mazda SUV and have not been caught.
The NYPD released pictures of the suspects Tuesday and asked the public’s help identifying them and tracking them down. One can be seen holding the stick while the other clutches the cane.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
